Former FBI agent Cyn Reid has four days to unmask the homegrown hate-group terrorists threatening to bomb graduation ceremonies at the South Carolina university she serves as director of security. The crisis hits at a terrible time. The unsolved murder-rape of a graduate student has infused the campus with fear, and a troubled coed's false accusation against an Hispanic attacker threatens to turn ill will toward illegal migrants into something uglier. Cyn's mission turns personal when a psycho biker attacks her, and she uncovers a link between the bomb plot and her uncle, a powerful U.S. Senator, who is slated to speak at commencement.
The intertwining threats prompt Cyn to question the motives of the wealthy lawyer she's dating and wrestle with her mother's narrow-mindedness. The one-time agent also is forced to collaborate with her cheating ex-husband, who's become an FBI legend, and to join forces with professor and erotic novelist, Wolf Valdes, the one-time lover she doesn't trust but can't forget.
